To turn off startup programs,
- Open your "Start" menu, and hit "RUN"
- Type in "msconfig" (without qutations) and hit "Enter" key
- Look to see that the "Selective Startup" is selected
- Now hit the "Startup" tab at the top of the box.
- Take a look at the startup items list, and uncheck any that don't need to run.
- Be sure to leave your antivirus checked.
- If you don't know what something is, google it. You don't want to turn off vital programs like graphis or sound drivers.
- When finsihed, hit apply and ok, then restart.
- After your pc reboots, you will see a popup that lets you know you are running selective startup. Check the box to not show again, and hit ok.
- Your pc should now boot up faster.
